About Hannibal Machine

A family machine shop, still on the floor.

Hannibal Machine is a precision machine shop in Hannibal, Missouri. Harold Haycraft opened it in 1989. Scott Haycraft runs it with him. It is still family owned, still hands-on, and still a certified service-disabled veteran-owned business.

The shop was built around machining, not around a catalog. Customers bring a print, a broken part, or a fixture that has to work. We machine it, check it, and ship it.

What we do here:

Most of the work is prototypes, first articles, and low- to mid-volume production. A single proof piece. A short run. A repeat release in the tens or low thousands. We also build jigs and fixtures, and we repair and rebuild machinery so a line can get back up.

The machines cover 3- to 5-axis milling to 84 x 34 x 30 in, CNC turning and mill-turn, and a 6 x 12 waterjet for blanks ahead of machining. Inspection stays in house, including a Keyence XM-1200 CMM, so the first article and the production lot are checked on the same equipment.

How we work:

  • We ask before we assume. Missing dimensions and material questions go back to the customer early.
  • Prototype and production stay in the same shop. The part is not proved here and then sent somewhere else for the run.
  • Size control matters. The shop is temperature controlled, and critical features are checked before the job leaves.
  • SDVOSB status is available for customers who need it. CAGE 0SBL2.

Industries we work in:

Work has included production parts, fixtures, and repairs for manufacturers and government customers who need the part made to the print and back in service.

  • Hose and fluid-handling manufacturing
  • Food production equipment
  • Wheel and heavy industrial line parts
  • Government and defense
  • Waterway construction and related heavy work
